Question Everything : Debug, Trace, Err? What?

F# C#

Both Debug and Trace classes has been synonymous with Diagnostics and Logging, and has been around with C# from the stone age.  The two static classes do more or less the same thing, and their main difference being – Debug class is intended for debug builds, whereas the trace class is intended for debug and release builds.

By default, Visual Studio defines both DEBUG and TRACE in project’s debug configuration and just the TRACE symbol in the release configuration.  Both Debug and Trace classes provide Write, WriteLine, and WriteIf Methods.  And by default these logged messages via this classes are sent to debugger’s output window.  However, you can change this behaviour by removing the default listener and replacing with your own by custom listener.

MSDN, has provided a good articles on extending this functionality @ https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/sk36c28t.aspx

Book Review : Kelvikuri [S. Ramakrishnan]

Book Reading

My journey with S Ramakrishnan, continued with கேள்விக்குறி after reading his other books தேசாந்திரி, சிறிது வெளிச்சம், மறைக்கப்பட்ட இந்தியா and உணவு யுத்தம். Pretty much like his other books, Kelvikuri was a compilation of his journal articles which was earlier published in Vikatan Magazine.  The book explored and answered questions that we pose in our everyday life,  You could have judged that by its title.

Every article in the book starts with philosophical thoughts, then he continues to associate his thoughts with his real life incidents and finishes off with a short story.  You can expect every sort of matured thoughts come into play, when you read across the articles.  Once you start with the book, it will be very hard to stop – The book can be read in one or two sittings, as the book has little over 100 pages and S Ra’s writings help you stay hooked with the pages.  I would definitely recommend this book to anyone – worth 4/5 Stars.

  • Book Name : Kelvikuri
  • Author : S. Ramakrishnan
  • Publisher : Vikatan Media Services
  • Pages : 104
  • Price : 110 INR

Quotes from the Book:
